Our Team of Professional Guides

Our team is comprised of a group of well-trained, experienced, licensed tour guides with an excellent command of foreign languages, excellent knowledge of Cambodian history, culture, religions, ancient architecture and profound knowledge of remarkable places of interest all around our country. We love our country’s history and culture and we would love to share it with our esteemed guests.

Meet our guides

 Yoeun Thol (Kim) 

A local English speaking tour guide for the remarkable Angkor Temples and other places of interest around Cambodia. Kim has been guiding for the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia since 2000. A high school teacher of English and Khmer literature, Kim is currently studying Italian. Apart from teaching and guiding, Kim works as a coordinator and volunteer with Kids International Development Society (KIDS) based in Canada. In 2000 Kim worked as interpreter in the field of Special Effects Team and personal guide for Angelina Jolie during the shooting of “Tomb Raider”. Kim has an extended knowledge of local filming spots and enjoys sharing them with his clients. Kim has worked as an Interpreter & Research assistant in the Angkor Archaeological Park commissioned by UNESCO. In 2004, he took a period of 9 months to become a Buddhist monk in order to learn and understand more about life.

Sangwian Vorn

An English and Thai speaking guide. One of the co-founders of First Angkor Guides, Vorn has been working as a tour guide for many years inside the Angkor archeological park and around Cambodia. Vorn looks forward to sharing his historical and cultural experiences with you.

Ros Savuon

An English and Italian speaking tour guide. A licensed tour guide trained by the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism, Savuon has experience guiding tourists in the Angkor Archeological Park and other tourism sites in Cambodia since 2007. In addition to working with tour clients from all over the world, Savuon is also a teacher of English in the biggest High School in Siem Reap. He loves sharing his important knowledge with his students and his valued guests.

Sophea

A professional English tour guide to the Angkor temples and around the country. As a member, he is currently studying Italian. Sophea has been a licensed tour guide since 1999. He joined First Angkor Guides because he admires the values of the team dedications. He loves sharing with his valued clients his deep knowledge of history, customs, culture, religions, architecture and art of Cambodia.

Sophy Phay 

I have been an accredited and licensed English and Spanish speaking guide. Before becoming a guide, I taught history as a high school teacher in Siem Reap the gateway city to Angkor. My love of history and an depth knowledge of Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage helps me provide visitors to Angkor with a superior experience well beyond the norm. Clients are very important to me and we are committed to providing every single visitor with a most enjoyable and memorable trip to this part of the world. I would be delighted to take care of your sightseeing adventure to the kingdom of wonder.

Yann

Yann is a high school teacher of English and he successfully completed the Tour Guide Training Course in 2008. A licensed tour guide, Yann has experience guiding tourists in the Angkor Archeological Park and other tourism sites in Cambodia, especially cycle tours. He loves sharing his endless knowledge of the country’s history and culture, religions and ancient architecture with his esteemed guests.
